Worth Magazine has joined the global Internet media bandwagon. Focus is on Wealth, Living and Giving. There are some nifty tools at this site. In the Living section, check out the Art Price Guide, which links to icollector at http://www.icollector.com/artlib/index.html. Here you can gather data to guesstimate what your prospect's collection is worth or see how much a specific work was sold for at auction. All works show their prices in U.S. dollars, French francs and British pounds, as well as the currency in which the sale was made. I ran a search on Andy Warhol. Looks like his works range from $3,000 to $3.3 million (U.S.) on the art auction circuit, so obviously I have to do more research about specific works. Living also provides two very helpful lists. Find America's wealthiest cities for the last three years and this year's 50 wealthiest city neighborhoods by median home price. The Giving pages provide the Benefactor 100 list, those most generous Americans for 2000, with brief (and do I mean really brief!) descriptions of their philanthropy. In addition, Giving offers a plethora of articles, and even an online advice page, that can educate you and your organization's prospects about wise giving. There's a link to the charity finder at 4charity.com, where anyone can find a nonprofit by name or type and make a donation through their service. So, make sure your organization is listed correctly with the IRS, because that's where 4charity.com gets its data. Check out Wealth for Worth's picks on this year's 50 top CEOs based on leadership, profitability and citizenship. Worth's staff notes that this year, they actually like the people on the list. And hey, there's a women in the top ten! Wealth also provides some interesting articles on a variety of investment vehicles. You can set up a portfolio of the stocks your top prospects have and track their value. Or see what the stock experts' top picks are. At the top of the screen, link to Nasdaq, the Dow, S&P and the Russell 2000 to see how those stocks are doing. There is a lot more to explore at this site, so get a cuppa and have at it. But be warned, some of the pages would not load from the site index at the bottom of the front page, so you may have to navigate through layers of pages the hard way.
