This is a great site to find a quick snapshot. Click on the state, then the city and get a list (mostly alphabetized) of registered charities located there. Listings offer links to the Web site and a brief overview, including address, contact person, ruling date (date established), organization type, type of activity, date of last 990 filing and some financials from the 990.

Grenzebach Glier & Associates offers exactly that! I don’t know how many times I have seen a request for charitable statistics on the L. Here is quick access to the major providers of philanthropic research, statistics and white papers. Philanthropy by Industry offers a less robust list of organizations specific to various nonprofit sectors. Find out some of the educational institutions that offer degrees or certificates in nonprofit management and related areas under Education for Development Staff. Guidelines provide links to the standards and ethics delineated by various development professional organizations. Publications has links to major fundraising publications.
