| TOOLS CONTENTS: Directory Assistance Plus is three handy tools in one: business look-up, person look-up and reverse phone search. Why use this site instead of the usual look-up sites? You get a bit more information. Business searches give the standard address and phone, but also show how long the business has been in existence and who the primary contact is. Person look-ups tell you address, phone, estimated home value and household income, years at the residence and type of dwelling. Reverse Phone Search yields some of the same, depending on whether you look up a person or business. Worth trying, although results for all three searches can be a little spotty. The offer to look up your person or business on momma.com is not worth pursuing, as the results are way too broad. And, of course, be aware that the true purpose of the site is to sell you more detailed information.
Kudos and gratitude to Kathy Biehl who has updated her chart and review of state business filing sites on LLRX.com. Find Biehl's latest scoop at http://www.llrx.com/columns/roundup29.htm Use the handy chart of states at the beginning of the article to skip to the state of your choice. Read about what is available from that state, then follow the links to the relevant sites. In another helpful LLRX.com article, Marcus Zillman, author and executive director of the Virtual Private Library, provides tons of links to articles, tools, resources and search engines for and about navigating the "invisible Web." Explore to your heart's content, but don't forget to leave a trail of pebbles! http://www.llrx.com/features/deepweb2005.htm
