STANFORD UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH

Stanford offers a good collection of links. Not as beefy as some researcher-created sites, but it conveniently covers the everyday research basics and then some.

The site opens with a page containing Google search and a stock quote look-up, complete with ticker look-up. There's also Lance Hill's Prospect Research Search Engine, which is so terrific, it warranted its own review below). Research Links has those everyday basics I mentioned, nicely categorized and neatly displayed in a side-by-side frame format. News/Magazine Links has a decidedly West Coast flavor in the domestic newspapers, but does include some of the big national rags. What's Hot was disappointing, with only one link, and a few links here and there were dead or for Stanford staff use only. Hopefully, Lance Hill will renovate and update when he revamps the site, which he is planning to do soon.

LANCE HILL'S PROSPECT RESEARCH SEARCH ENGINE

Lance gets heartfelt kudos for this fantastic tool. Stop beating your head against the wall trying to find that researcher's dream of a Web page you forgot to bookmark. Search for it here using the Prospect Research Engine, which is described as a "searchable index of all known, relevant prospect research websites." I tried a several searches and got terrific links back. Lance updates the index, so searching will only get better. Looks like Lance's claim is good! In addition to residing on the Stanford site, you can link to his search engine at:

COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES PROSPECT RESEARCH PAGE

This is a page with a good spread of links across categories helpful for researching individuals and organizations. There is a nice smattering of Canadian links under International.

VALERIE AU'S INTERNET RESOURCES

Valerie Au at Rowan University set this page up with the links she uses daily for her research. She has a little o' this and a little o' that. I hope she continues to build this site.
