The American Dental Association (ADA) Infopak 2005 has some good basic information about dentist salaries from the military to the academic.

This site is an online survey compiler. It takes compensation information that people enter and compiles it. It's not always on target, but is sometimes helpful for odd positions or when you can't find salary data from a professional health care association. Just ignore the salary survey at the top of the page and go directly to the search engine under it.
