KATRINA EMERGENCY TAX RELIEF ACT (KETRA)

Are you planning to make a significant charitable contribution some day? If you do it before December 31, 2005, your cash contribution can be used to offset up to 100 percent of your gross adjusted income -- up from the normal 50 percent limit. While the increase was passed by the IRS in the name of Hurricane Katrina emergency tax relief, it can be used for any charitable purpose. Donors must affirmatively elect to apply this provision on their tax returns for 2005.
