While doing a search for definitions of the term "usury," which is defined as an exorbitant or unconscionable rate of interest or any interest charged on a loan, I ran across a PBS FRONTLINE program from November 2004 that gives an insider’s look at the credit card industry. In "Secret History of the Credit Card," FRONTLINE and The New York Times join forces to investigate the credit card industry. In this report, correspondent Lowell Bergman uncovers the techniques used by the industry to earn record profits and get consumers to take on more debt.
