| CONTENTS: NewsDirectory.com takes a unique indexing approach. It lists the papers by area codes, or you can sort them by region. If you have a prospect's phone number, you can start here to determine which news sources to use to start your search. This is a very handy source if your fee-based aggregator doesn't offer the papers you may need. It doesn't stop there. You can attempt to sort the list by city, too. Alas, the page wouldn't appear when I tried, so I had to use my browser's Find function to locate the papers covering my prospect's town. Scroll down the page to the heading "Texas Media" to make other news selections:
There are additional resources at the bottom of the page, including links to general news source pages, (Newspapers, Magazines and Television), as well as Texas City Governments, Texas Travel and Texas Colleges. Oh, and one more thing. Perhaps your prospect lives near a bordering state. This site offers Adjacent States links, too. Not all of the states bordering Texas appear on the list, but if your prospect lives in Texarkana, you are in luck. http://newsdirectory.com/news/press/na/us/tx/
While a great resource, the news sources are categorized by town only. If you need more media sources, check out the college newspapers, Texas radio stations and Texas television lists, too. http://www.usnpl.com/txnews.html N-Net is the "newspaper network on the world wide web." Let's say you do have a newspaper name but can't find it on the Web, or it isn't a source in your favorite aggregator; turn to N-Net for a plethora of papers, addresses and phone numbers. When you need a current scoop on your prospect who lives in that small town, let your fingers do the dialing for the latest news story.
