Translated from Hebrew, Gush Shalom means "The Peace Bloc" and is the leading force behind the Israeli peace movement. Gush Shalom plays a key role in determining the moral and political agenda of the peace forces in Israel, as well as in breaking the so-called "national consensus" based on misinformation. The primary aim of Gush Shalom is to influence Israeli public opinion and lead it towards peace and conciliation with the Palestinian people.

The Palestine News Network was established in 2002. In 2003, the Holy Land Trust (http://www.holylandtrust.org/) partnered with PNN by creating an English-language site and by giving the Web site a new design. French and Hebrew pages have been added to the site with both Spanish and German pages to be launched in a few months. PNN supports and strengthens the role of the local Palestinian media by unifying news sources and publishing news bulletins simultaneously to a number of radio stations in the West Bank and Gaza. PNN also has begun sending breaking news via mobile phones in Jordan. This service will extend to a large number of Arab countries as soon as this is possible.
