From the Newspaper Association of America, NewsVoyager touts itself as "a gateway to your local newspaper." Yes, it is.

The reader has some choice options to navigate the site. Make a selection from three drop-down menus or enter the name of a newspaper or city in a dialog box. The drop-down menus allows the user to pick a newspaper type, such as international or daily, select a state or choose a typical section from a newspaper, like Business or Sports.

The front page of this site includes a Feature of the Week. When reviewed, the section featured Brown v. Board of Education, complete with hotlinks to the local newspaper, a photo archive, audio commentary and a time line. Feature of the Week archives for 2003 and 2002 are available, too.

Still can't find that one particular news source? Since 1995, the Internet Public Library's newspaper section has been a required bookmark. Housed at the University of Michigan, this is a reliable and robust source of news, reference and topic guides, especially useful for industry research.

The home page is indexed by Online newspapers from around the world and also alphabetically. Find more categories such as subject, reference and special collections, as well as a reading room with books, newspapers and magazines.

Not unlike your favorite reference librarian, Searching Tools points the prospect researcher in the right direction by answering reference questions, helping with topic research and explaining how to use the site search. Paperboy is a little busy in presentation, but posts the papers you may need for your next big research project.

Find a newspaper by browsing country or state drop-down menus. To help with your selection, sort the alpha results by state, city or language. Use the newspaper search to query by keyword or use the advanced feature to search by paper name, city, country or language. You may want to try the headline search function too. Top Drawer Newspapers lets you select from the "big" papers around the world. Plug in your headphones or close your office door to listen to the news.
