NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC NEWS

On April 1, 2003 National Geographic News celebrated the day with the feature April Fools' Special: History's Hoaxes by John Roach. What a great read! Roach relates the tales of some of the great hoaxes. The Web story is replete with pics, a definition of hoaxes and a history of hoaxes. The Library of Congress’ American Memory project "is a gateway to rich primary source materials relating to the history and culture of the United States . The site offers more than 7 million digital items from more than 100 historical collections."
