| CONTENTS: Cultural diversity, peace, unity -- all seem important and related topics this month. News Online takes a brief look at diverse news sources found on the World Wide Web. Organized by news channels found on the left of the screen, the site opens with current headline news. A nifty feature is the icon leading the headline. Each icon designates a topic such as education, business, government and the Internet. Click on an icon to reach the news dedicated to that particular subject. Additionally, a graphic of a camera indicates a story with graphics present. Articles, like the Web site itself, appear in Spanish and English. http://www.hispanicprwire.com/main.html Black PR Wire established its presence on the Web in October 2000. While its home page opens with press releases by date, it also provides video and audio messages and electronic newsletters to the news hungry on the Web. Additionally, "The company's database holds a comprehensive listing of over 1,200 Black-owned publications and media and includes a comprehensive listing of key Black journalists throughout the United States and the Caribbean." Click on Press Releases found in the left menu to find news organized by subject.
Diversity is the norm at inadaily.com. It is a partnership among some of the world's top news sources, which offers a global perspective on today’s headlines. The site has both a free e-mail newsletter and fee-based service ($3.95 per month). Your daily news can be customized to your needs. Select top stories, business, culture, sports or other topics of interest to you and your institution. Partner news organizations include: El Pais (Spain), Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung Publishing Group (Germany), Haaretz (Israel), Het Financieele Dagblad (Netherlands), International Herald Tribune (International), Rizzoli Corriere della Sera (Italy), JoongAng Ilbo (Korea), Kathimerini (Greece), Le Figaro (France) and The Daily Star (Lebanon). My thanks goes to Elise Ober who discovered this site.
