ABYZ NEWS LINKS

Abyz links to more than 15,500 newspapers, as well as broadcast stations and other news sources worldwide.

To begin your search, pick a Region or Country from the home page. Then choose your media source.

If you select a regional source, the resulting page is sorted into Background Information, General Interest Sources (with sub-categories of Broadcast, Internet and Newspapers) and Business Sources.

Choose a specific country and the sources are categorized by Background Information, National and Local Sources, and Foreign Sources.

Don't let the codes or abbreviations throw you. The codes signify, for example, Media Type (IN=Internet, NP=Newspaper), Media Focus (BU=Business, GI=General Interest) and Language (EN=English). Also, there are descriptive notes that indicate if the site has Radio or TV or covers a specific sub-region. You get the idea.

It DOES have the most complete set of hot links to Connecticut rags that I have found so far. So, Abyz is now in my bookmarks.

As a very helpful added value, Abyz's Resources has three links to translation sites. And you can search its files by keyword.

Help yourself out by using the Add a Link suggestion box.

Simple, clean and quick, this is a must for news hounds.

ZWIRE!

Zwire! (http://www.zwire.com) is signing up LOTS of newspapers for its services. Last count touted that over 1,600 U.S.-based newspapers are in its fold.

Zwire! is not just links to newspapers. It provides the publishing and its affiliate PowerAdz (http://www.poweradz.com) provides the revenue-generating resources for the newspapers.

A plus for the researcher -- you will always know where to look on the page for local news or the Yellow pages since Zwire! creates the site design and templates.

Some of its affiliates include La Raza, New York Post, Dallas Morning News, Journal Register Company, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Omaha World Herald, Orange County Register, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Bergen Record.

Begin your research from the Newspaper Network map.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL INTERACTIVO

Yes, it's the Wall Street Journal with Business and Technology -- all the ingredients that make up this definitive journal.

This edition provides the journal with a focus on the Americas. Find What's News on the International and Latin American scenes, Latin American indexes and, especially helpful, links to dailies from each country in the region. Also, there is a link to a Portuguese version.
