NANDO TIMES

The Nando Times has been a mainstay for news on the Web since 1994. In fact, it was one of the first Internet news sites. The depth and breadth of its coverage makes it a favorite of the news-hungry, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Nando Times integrates news topics with Special Reports and Features. Its features include newsletters, video vaults, photos and more.

For up-to-date news every 15 minutes, try News Watcher, found in Features. Just hit the Refresh button to update the current news. Also, you can opt to review the News Watcher archives for the past seven days.

Nando Times has a bevy of newsletters that can be delivered to your in-box. Select from the AM News, the PM News, News Alerts, War on Terror, Today in History and many sports selections.

To search the archives (through September 2001), opt for all sections or a specific one. Limit your search by date or browse by section within the past 14 days. Note: You must register in order to access the articles.

The Nando Times links to regional news from Nando Media and its parent, The McClatchy Company. Click on a state for a list of the 11 daily local papers available online, some of which also offer community-oriented portals.

Colleagues with PDAs can use the Nando Times' wireless service.

For those with sports figures on the prospecting horizon, try the Nando Times companion news site, the SportServer.

EUROPEMEDIA.NET

Europemedia.net may be a match for The Nando Times in the European arena. This great resource offers News by Country, News by Sector, Company News (from EuropePR.com), TV Meets the Web (news about e-commerce, broadband, tech, online publishing and more), Factfiles with country links and a business directory. Using the frames on the left, you can do a simple search of the Web site, News by Country, News by Sector and the Factfiles.

The advanced search function is wonderfully complex. The link is found below the Web site search box. There are many ways to limit your search. Search content using AND or an exact phrase option. Search using a start date and year (back to 2000) or an end date and year.

From a number of drop down menus, limit a query by selecting articles, features or editorials, or pick a specific country in which to do your research. The country option includes the European Union (EU), Western Europe and Eastern Europe. Additionally, you can select a specific industry or editor for your search.

Europemedia.net has so much to offer a researcher. Take time to explore the many other resources provided by this site.

EUROPEPR

As mentioned above, EuropePR provides company press releases to Europemedia.net. An added advantage to using EuropePR is that it provides more selections. Read press releases by topic, country and company.

EUROPA NEWS

If you are researching prospects in Europe, it may be beneficial to keep up with the news on the European Union. If you don't find what you need using the sites reviewed above, Europa News may be a great option. It provides press releases (the last seven days are available), events and agenda. Also, review the current issue of the Europa Newsletter for policies.
