This month we focus on wealth. Who has it? Just how rich are they? What role does philanthropy play in protecting this wealth? How does the rest of the world perceive wealth? Law firms, corporate giving programs and insurance companies help create the definitions we use to measure and manage wealth. Foundations distribute wealth to improve the quality of life for the poor. Online news services and sophisticated research tools help us scan for wealth.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “That some should be rich, shows that others may become rich, and, hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise.” Enjoy the wealth in this issue!
