A WORD FROM THE EDITOR

The good news for 2008 is that corporations and foundations continue to transform the lives of the disadvantaged through philanthropy. Wealthy Canadians continue to lead interesting lives, while the Internet continues to be a rich source of the tools that we need to communicate with our colleagues around the world and to advocate on behalf of philanthropy. The bad news for 2008 is all of the talk about a possible recession in the U.S.
However, as someone who has "been there and done that" during past recessions, the truly good news to share for 2008 is that it will always pay back to give and to do good.
