CONTENTS: A great starting point for research in filmmaking, actors and film distribution in other countries begins here. The Film Festivals site features an engine that will search by film, by festival and by any keyword you choose (from the Search link near the bottom of the menu bar on the left). As always, be sure to check out the Links page, where you will find pathways to Web magazines, screenwriting resources, celebrities and more. Those of you who read the Internet Prospector's international beat -- those who do international research -- know that often a Web site serves us in that it brings us a great collection of links. You also know this: A dependence on electronic resources is causing an erosion of historical resources for all researchers. Here today, gone tomorrow -- that seems to be an Internet mantra. This site will relieve some of your anxieties in this regard. Association Francaise de Recherche sur L'Histoire du Cinema provides visitors with a grand collection of links to Internet sites recording and sharing the history of film. And you won't have to read much French (beyond that glorious title) because the site has an English version. Select your language and then choose Cinema History on Internet. You'll drop into a set of links to film schools around the world, libraries, film organizations and country-specific sites such as Film India, the Polish Film database and UniFrance Film. http://www.dsi.cnrs.fr/AFRHC/AFRHCE.html What might be the model for industry coverage for a country, AusFilms offers visitors the chance to search the site by cast, director, cinematographer and more. The database contains information about all Australian films and many collaborative efforts involving Australians made since the turn of the 20th century.
