What happens when you find a great little resource on the Web? Does your heart beat a bit faster for a moment? That might happen when you check out this site. Tour around the entire site, but be sure to visit the Japan Studies section. There you'll find articles from past issues of J@pan Inc, a technology and cultural magazine. My favorite (although the symbols didn't always translate well) is from the May 2001 issue: "Japanese Names." The teaser invites us to learn the correct way to read Japanese names. Where have you been all my (research) life? Keep scrolling before you click. The November 2000 article archived here explores the changes in the concept of land as an asset in Japan. Wow. This Web site's front page outlines other great articles, including a handy list of the five most visited articles in the past 60 days. The newest issue is protected from view for a time, but the archive is a great place to wile away the hours in the meantime, since all researchers have hours to wile, don't they?
