The Thai stock exchange Web page has an English version and we like that. Researching Thai public companies will feel more familiar than you expected. For each search, you'll get a quote that includes the high and low quotes in addition to today's quote and the percent of change for the stock. The menu on the left side of the page gives you access to a company profile, the names of the individuals on the board of directors, major shareholders, company news and historical trading. You can download a company's financial statement or Form 56-1 (information disclosure report) from this menu. You'll like the Form 56-1 -- it includes the management structure, risk factors the company faces, future projects and more. http://www.set.or.th/en/index.html When your research takes you to another country, you would be happy to see a synopsis of the evolution or history of the economic path for the industry in which your prospect works. Meet Indonext. Choose an Indonesian industry from the links there and the first thing you'll notice is a brief story about the development of that industry. For example, banking in Indonesia experienced a "revolution" that began in the 1980s. Choose Oil under Mining and you will learn a bit about the OPEC quota system. You can also search for information and links to companies via the Region tab. The Indonesia tab organizes content in one more way, focusing on the view from the big picture of government, defense, politics and history, as well as other broad brush strokes.
