INTERNATIONAL As fall approaches, attentions turn to campaigns and candidates. The rest of the world is watching and doing election-financing of their own. CONTENTS: Does your prospect's well-being rely on who holds office? You can keep up with the election results in many places at Electionworld.org. Find the latest elections, an electoral calendar and country profile pages. Use the Resources link to mine for additional information in the locale that interests you. It's tough enough to keep up with who's in and who's out close to home, so just try doing that on the other side of the world. Rulers comes to your rescue. You can search for information using the easy alpha search or by reviewing the events of history by month and year. There are category searches for Foreign Ministers, International Organizations and Religious Leaders. The alpha sort near the bottom of the home page leads you to individual bios of leaders. Even though the site reports that it is undergoing a "reconstruction," it appeared to be functioning and up-to-date, judging by the references to the situation in Iraq in President Bush's profile. Contributors to elections in Canada are listed in the database maintained by Elections Canada. To reach this information, choose Election Financing from the home page. Then choose Contributions and Expenses under Candidates' Financial Reports. Next, choose an Election from the menu on the left. The Guided Search page offers you the chance to search by contributor. First submit the individual's name to the search tool, then select the correct names from those returned to add to the search field in the next box. The results returned will be handy tables that outline the amount of the contribution, which candidate received the gift and other details. Also, you may review the top ten contributors to any election.
