CONTENTS: Meet one-stop, no cost shopping for researchers with an eye toward Japan. JCN Network bills that it offers "Japan's corporate news" and more. News is parsed into sectors such as energy, transportation, communication and other industries. Go to a sector page and there you will find headline news, press releases and a list of links to publicly-traded companies. Visitors can search by company name, too. Best of all, JCN offers free annual reports and free e-mail alerts. For the latter, sign up and then pick the companies you'd like to monitor by ticker, company name or sector. It isn't too difficult to wrap your arms around real estate concepts on your native ground but, once property is outside recognizable turf boundaries, real estate valuations begin to blur. Every good researcher knows that learning more often begins with, well, research. Asia Property Report, focusing on Thailand, bills itself as "the region's real estate news portal." The lure of intriguing headlines will draw you in. "Seeing through transparency" reports on the difficulties of achieving transparency in many transactions, even when it is actually a company's goal. "Lapping up the luxury" explores Thailand's villa market. The site's archive includes issues dating back to early 2004. There is a fee-based option for a subscription to this publication, if it is particularly useful to you. http://www.property-report.com/ The Japan Directory includes almost 10,000 links. It is updated daily. It is in English. Bring your drill, because you have to go deep when you explore directories, don't you? I picked Society, then Economy, and poof! I was delivered to Japanese Billionaires in 2003 (from Forbes, of course). The News & Media section has an interesting collection of newspapers, magazines, radio and television links. The Regional section has links to Japan's prefectures and Regions.
