I had the grand pleasure of visiting the New England Development Researchers (NEDRA) in Boston earlier this year. I met Harvard's Dina Zellecke there and she shared this site that will intrigue international researchers. Asiaweek magazine published their annual salary survey in March and it is a gem. Review salaries by country -- from Australia to India to Hong Kong and more -- or by position -- doctor, lawyer, CEO, sales manager, government leader, to name a few. Your selection will return a table with the typical salary for that profession in all the countries covered in the survey. On your first pass, make a "by country" selection and scroll down to see the survey notes, explanations and disclaimers. These will not appear when you select by profession. Be sure to check out the lead article about how stock options are making inroads as a compensation option in Asia.

While we are on the topic, here are a few other salary surveys for your international collection. Use the link below to access a collection of brief but fascinating links to statistics and directories at the HispanicBusiness.com Web site. My favorite statistics in this group can be found under the title, "CEOs of the Hispanic Business 500." A fax survey of business leaders created a compelling profile. Be sure to look at the "Boardroom Elite 2000 Directory" list of American-born Hispanic company leaders sitting on the boards of Fortune 1000 companies.
