FRESOURCE

Say it out loud and it will sound like this: free-source. This "global fundraising resources" collection is a grand repository of tools for prospect researchers. Begin your visit with the free registration so that all opportunities to see the collection will be open to you. Next, travel across the menu bar at the top of the page, beginning with the Research Room, where you'll stop for a spell at the Fundraising Resources Database. The advanced search option offers, among others, choices about sector, type and format of the resource you are seeking. Other links to review from the menu bar include international and UK-based forums, news, training, jobs and more. There is a ticker just below that top menu bar letting us know what has been recently added to fResource. On the day of my visit, the Eurasian Business Directory was drawing my attention.

AUSTRALIA'S TOP INCOME POSTCODES

Yes, Martha, that fun rich zip game we play in the U.S. is played in other regions of the world. Our new friend, fResource, introduces us to a Sydney Morning Herald article touting Melbourne's move into two of the top three wealthiest postcodes in Australia . By the time you see this, that story may or may not continue to be available at:

Like all good researchers, those great folks at fResource are not content with a simple news story and, instead, lead us right to the Australian government's taxation statistics. Now we're cooking with gas on the barbie mate!

THE MCKINSEY QUARTERLY: THE STATE OF CORPORATE PHILANTHROPY

With another grateful thank you to our friends at fResource (will I ever need to leave their site?), meet the McKinsey Quarterly, a business journal producing studies and articles about for-profit and nonprofit management and other business topics. Registration and subsequent access to many of the reports are free. At the point of registration, take the option to receive alerts about topics of interest to you. Today's offering is an international survey of corporations about their approaches to philanthropy. The statistics on how many companies think their philanthropic efforts are not achieving their goals are fascinating. From the home page's left menu bar select Strategic Thinking under Strategy and you'll get to the corporate philanthropy article.
