Duke University's Perkins Library is the home of this wonderful resource. Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) are the nonprofit groups making a difference across the globe. As the Duke team points out, they are so influential in some places that governments consult with them. Here you will find an amazingly comprehensive list with, as you would expect, varying depths of information. You can access the information from a few fronts: by issues, by geography or by affiliation. http://docs.lib.duke.edu/igo/guides/ngo/
Find get-a-start profiles of banks and investment companies, with the option to buy more information. Preliminary data include contact information, a brief synopsis of key facts, the chief officers, news and more. Use the Free Research tab on the left to get to these company profiles. You'll find U.S. and non-U.S. companies in this index. http://www.banking-business-review.com/ We looked at Business Patrol about five years ago, so a fresh glance is worth the time. Business Patrol offers visitors a collection of links organized via the tabs at the top of the page. Researchers will find the Companies Listing and Country Links useful. Select a country -- say, Belgium -- and you'll find the links divided into categories such as Business News and Newspapers, Belgian Ministries, Belgian Business Organizations and Links. Be sure to have your translation tools handy -- these pages do not necessarily have an English option. http://www.businesspatrol.com/
