MSU LIBRARIES: INTERNATIONAL AND FOREIGN GRANTMAKERS

We have been known to extol the virtues of collecting collectors. Let's face it: Some of the best collectors spend their days on college campuses. Michigan State University's Jon Harrison maintains a rich collection of international grantmakers. Here you will find foundations with familiar names and links to their Web pages. You will also find links to collections of grantmakers around the world, many not known to you. Great links to country-based collections of foundations, government grant programs and more offer you a chance to explore uncommon opportunities for your nonprofit.

WORLD BANK SMALL GRANTS RESOURCES

You can find support in the most surprising places. The World Bank maintains a collection of international small grantmakers. The grants are directed to organizations working on social development and civic engagement issues. In addition to links to organizations functioning as pathways to grantmakers for grantseekers, the World Bank gives us links to some of our favorite donor portals (their term). The portals are organized by geography and by general prominence. From the home page, select Topics, then Social Development. At the bottom of that page, you'll find the link to the Small Grants Program.

HACER

The Hispanic American Center for Economic Research (HACER) has a few tools that will interest prospect researchers. For any researcher crossing these new borders, the articles are fascinating. Latin Newspapers, Magazine Links and TV & Radio Links lead the list of useful routes to the information researchers want. The Recommended Links page is aptly named Research Resources when you get there. Take a minute to check out the Latin Blogs section. You'll find it wise to keep translation tools nearby as you explore this site.
