What is more fun than finding a collector's collection? Karen Blakeman has assembled a mix of company and telephone directories from more countries than we'll count today. Some of the directories, like Corporate Information, Europages and Kompass, will be familiar to you. Others, like Bureau van Dijk with basic information for 5.5 million companies and more information for a fee, will be a brand new treat. Karen arranges the links by country and region and includes a very brief explanation of what most of the links provide. This one goes in the international bookmarks without hesitation. http://www.rba.co.uk/sources/directs.htm Begin your visit to this site by taking a moment to orient yourself. Scroll down the page for links. But don't overlook this: The words in yellow on the menu bar across the top of the page open pathways to more information. By passing your cursor over Country Links, for example, you gain access to collections of country-specific links. B2B Premium offers other data slices from the collection, along with links to Chambers of Commerce and more. The Search engine connects you to engines that search nationally or regionally for each European country listed. http://www.businesspatrol.com/ This is a straightforward contact information-only Web site. It is also a mine of information and particularly helpful if you've reached a dead end that might be caused by spelling or other basic errors. The well-organized site offers you access to government offices, companies and more. There are hidden treats here, too. Choose Financial and, in addition to links to banks and financial consultants, you'll link to the Istanbul stock exchanges. One of the best sections on this page is "Turkish companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland." There is even a link to a collection of Turkish foundations, sorted by city and then alphabetically. Remember, you'll get contact information only, but sometimes that's a beginning, isn't it?
