THE NATIONAL FILM PRESERVATION FOUNDATION

The National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF) was created by the U.S. Congress to save America's film heritage. Working with archives and others who appreciate film, the NFPF supports preservation activities nationwide that ensure the physical survival of film and improve access to film for study, education and exhibition.

The foundation provides grants of $4,000 to $10,000 to nonprofit and public archives for laboratory work to preserve culturally and historically significant film material.

For guidelines, and more information, view the foundation's Web site at

NEWMAN'S OWN FOUNDATION

Based on Paul Newman's belief that eating well is the best revenge, the Newman's Own line of products reflects his goal to create nutritious, all-natural versions of his favorite foods. In 1982 Newman's Own, Inc. began with Mr. Newman's famous Oil & Vinegar Salad Dressing. Newman's Own now offers an expanded line of salad dressings, pasta sauces, salsas, popcorn, lemonade, ice cream and steak sauce.

Newman's Own gives away all profits, after taxes, from the sale of the products to educational and charitable organizations. Newman's Own Foundation gives to a variety of causes. Guidelines are available at its Web site at

ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOUNDATION

The stars provide for the Entertainment Industry Foundation. In 1942, Samuel Goldwyn founded the Motion Picture Charities Committee, the forerunner of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, to create an organization that would conduct a single unified campaign for all of the charitable giving within the industry. The campaign was designed to make giving easy by giving once through a payroll deduction plan.

Stars such as Gene Kelly, Jerry Lewis, Clint Eastwood, Quincy Jones, Gene Hackman, Jay Leno, Candice Bergen, Pierce Brosnan, Michael J. Fox and Jane Seymour have played major roles in the Foundation's efforts. But equally important have been the generous contributions of tens of thousands of industry members who represent all facets of the entertainment industry.

The foundation focuses its giving on the Greater Los Angeles area. For more information, check out its Web site at
