CONTENTS: Giving Wisely: The Internet Directory of Israeli Nonprofit and Philanthropic Organizations is a project of the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Professor Eliezer Jaffe compiled this Internet directory. Giving Wisely provides profiles of hundreds of charitable foundations in Israel. The guide's web page contains a searchable database of Israeli foundations and other nonprofits, a good reading list on the nonprofit world, a set of nifty links to other foundation search tools and more! http://www.givingwisely.org.il/ Many prospect researchers use Guidestar's wonderful nonprofit listing and 990 service, but Guidestar has many other useful features. For example, in its monthly news articles, Guidestar often focuses on organizations that support specific sectors of the nonprofit world. This month's article about President Bush's Faith-Based Initiative Program provides a link to a list of all the faith-based programs on Guidestar. Past articles have featured organizations that support the arts, child welfare and criminal justice. Find these articles and many more at http://www.guidestar.org/features/news Guidestar's site also provides a glossary of financial terms used by nonprofits, classified ads that list volunteer and employment opportunities and in-kind gift requests for participating organizations. The glossary is listed on the site's tool bar, but the classifieds can be found in the donor research section. http://www.guidestar.org/learn/index.stm Confused about how to use this wonderful web site?
