HELEN BADER FOUNDATION

The Milwaukee-based Helen Bader Foundation supports innovative programs that are making an impact on the lives of people throughout Wisconsin, the United States and Israel. The foundation currently concentrates on grantmaking in six program areas: Alzheimer's disease and dementia; education; economic development; early childhood development in Israel; Jewish life and learning; and Sankofa neighborhood renewal. The foundation prefers funding programs that demonstrate results, are coordinated with other community programs and can be replicated.

COMMON COUNSEL FOUNDATION

Common Counsel is a consortium of family foundations and individual donors committed to funding economic, environmental and social justice initiatives. While each member fund guides its own grantmaking program, all members seek to give voice to the needs of low income people, women, youth, people of color and others working for justice, equity and a healthy, sustainable environment. The majority of grants are made to organizations with annual budgets under $300,000. Common Counsel works closely with both grantees and grantors in order to nurture a growing community of funders and activists working for change. Grants range from $3,000 to $12,000 and the next deadline for applications is June 15.

CONRAD N. HILTON FUND FOR SISTERS

The Fund supports projects that improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities. At least one member of an officially recognized Roman Catholic congregation of religious women must work directly with the project to be funded in a full-time capacity. Two categories of projects are eligible. Category A supports projects that directly serve the economically disadvantaged and Category B supports projects that help congregations within developing countries to communicate and collaborate with one another.
