LANDMARKS PRESERVATION COUNCIL OF ILLINOIS (LPCI)

The Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois is the state's leading voice for historic preservation. Founded in 1971, LPCI has grown into a 2,000 member statewide organization.

The efforts of LPCI and its grant-giving programs have saved countless architectural and historic treasures throughout the state of Illinois. LPCI's founding mission was to stop the demolition of significant buildings in downtown Chicago and has broadened to include architecturally and historically significant archeological sites, structures and historic districts in all the cities, towns and rural areas of Illinois.

NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION

Since its founding in 1949, the National Trust has provided leadership, education and advocacy to save America's diverse historic places and to revitalize our communities. A private nonprofit organization with more than 250,000 members, the National Trust is the leader of the vigorous preservation movement that is saving the best of our past for the future, helping people protect the irreplaceable.

WORLD MONUMENTS FUND AND WATCH

World Monuments Fund is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of historic art and architecture worldwide through fieldwork, advocacy, grant-making, education and training. Since its founding in 1965, the New York-based World Monuments Fund has worked with local communities and partners to stem the loss of 400 important and irreplaceable sites in 80 countries including the Temple of Preah Khan at Angkor, Hagia Sophia and Brancusi's monumental Endless Column.

The World Monuments Watch, a global program launched in 1995, calls attention to imperiled cultural heritage sites around the world, and directs timely financial support to their preservation. A panel of leading international experts selects the List of 100 Most Endangered Sites from nominations submitted to WMF every two years by governments, individuals and organizations active in the field of cultural preservation.
