CONTENTS: The Foundation was established in 1968 as a living memorial to AARP Founder Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus. Its original purpose was to fund research that would find answers to some of the problems that affect older adults. In its 32 years of existence, the AARP Andrus Foundation has supported almost 660 grants, for a total funding amount of over $36 million.
