BELDON FUND

By making general and project support grants to effective nonprofit environmental advocacy organizations working in human health and the environment and in key states, the Beldon Fund seeks to build a national consensus to achieve and sustain a healthy planet. The Beldon Fund plans to invest its entire principal and earnings by 2009 to attain this goal. Be sure to take their new Eligibility Quiz to help you figure out whether there is a good fit between your work and the Beldon Fund’s current priorities.

The Beldon Fund will begin accepting letters of inquiry for the June 2005 board meeting on January 26, 2005. Letters of inquiry must be received in their office by March 2, 2005.

DON GRIESMANN’S GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

Don Griesmann's Grant Opportunities is a weekly subscription feature founded and edited by Don Griesmann and published by CharityChannel. It is available directly on the CharityChannel Web site and can be delivered via e-mail subscription. As its title implies, Griesmann scours the Internet for new grant opportunities that you might not get from any other source in such a timely manner -- even Internet Prospector.

TOWN CREEK FOUNDATION (TCF)

The Town Creek Foundation supports programs that engage citizens in challenging the unsustainable use of natural resources and in protecting biological diversity. Strategies supported are grassroots activism, monitoring the enforcement of environmental laws, public policy advocacy, collaborative opportunities, media outreach and model or demonstration projects fostering sustainable policies and practices.

A brief letter of inquiry (LOI) may be submitted before a full proposal is prepared. The letter should describe the organization or project for which you are seeking support, identify the amount of money requested and specify the budget for the project and the total budget for the organization. LOIs may be submitted by fax or e-mail and TCF will respond as to whether a full proposal will be considered. LOIs may be submitted at any time. Grant decisions are made by the ftlineboard of TCF three times a year in March, July and November. Grant application deadlines are January 15th, May 15th and September 15th and full proposals must be received by those dates.
