CHARITY VILLAGE
Internet Prospector, November '96
Hilborn, a Canadian provider of resources for nonprofits, established this site. Visit the library to read articles about campaign strategy, major gifts, ethics, international initiatives and just about everything else a researcher needs to know about fundraising. There is a book review section, a list of resources (including free stuff!) and more. The In-Kind Exchange offers you a chance to pass on something you don't need anymore to a nonprofit needier than yours.

FUNDSNET ONLINE SERVICES
Internet Prospector, July '97
Fundsnet has pulled together a wealth of resources for many constituencies. With numerous links in each, its sections include: Nonprofit, Latino, Education, Employment, Local Links, Scholarships, Search Engines (25) and Government resources. After looking at the subsection Foundations
Online, I tend to believe its claim of being the most comprehensive directory of foundations on the Internet.

THE MID ATLANTIC ARTS FOUNDATION
Internet Prospector, April '96
With the Arts so beleaguered these days and funding hard to come by, it's welcome to find an arts foundation on the Net that supports visual to performing arts and also spans such a large geographical area. The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation serves the following states:

The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation came into being in 1979 and maintains connections with the National Endowment for the Arts. It aims to increase "access to quality art programs". Their interests include the aforementioned visual and performing arts as well as jazz and folk arts.

Philanthropy Journal
Internet Prospector, May '95
With more and more community and regional computer networks going on the Internet, local nonprofit and fund raising issues will get discussed online. This seems to have happened with The Philanthropy Journal, a web page maintained by a newspaper publisher--the News and Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Philanthropy Journal is a slick web publication that offers news abstracts somewhat similar to the Foundation Center's Philanthropy Digest and the Chronicle of Higher Education's and the Chronicle of Philanthropy's online or e-mail digests.
