BOOYAH, JIM!

James C. Cramer, co-founder of TheStreet.com, is also the wild-man host of "Mad Money" on CNBC and the nationally syndicated talk radio show, "Real Money."

"BOOYAH!" is the standard greeting to and from fans, followed by rapid-fire advice on stocks as Cramer dashes about activating sound effects to make his point. It's great entertainment, but those not inclined to take him seriously should know that he's a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard (1977) with a JD from Harvard Law School (1984) who created and managed a highly successful hedge fund business for fourteen years. In addition to his advice columns, Cramer is the author of "Confessions of a Street Addict," "You Got Screwed" and "Jim Cramer's Real Money." Here's a short bio:

CIRE MAGAZINE - COMMERCIAL INVESTMENT REAL ESTATE

The CIRE magazine comes out every other month online. Issues feature different sectors of the commercial real estate market -- the biotech boom in the May-June 2005 issue, for example. The issue index allows access to back issues. Other nice features include Rising Stars and Deal Makers, each with a few sentences about agents who are currently making it big in CIRE. Use the Search or Find feature on your tool bar to look for successful agents in your area.

The following URL leads to the FAQ page, with links to application forms and more information on the grants programs.

THE WALLACE FOUNDATION

The Wallace Foundation is currently active in three focus areas: Arts Participation, Education Leadership and Out-of-School Learning. It solicits proposals from organizations it identifies, and unsolicited proposals are rarely funded. However, organizations may send a one to two page letter of inquiry to learn if they might be considered.

The Web site provides access to free publications about what the Wallace Foundation has learned from the programs it sponsors. These are available in the Knowledge Center:

GRANTMAKER WEB SITES - THE FOUNDATION CENTER

School is now in session, so let's begin the semester with one of the basics, the Grantmaker Web Sites of the Foundation Center. This is the jumping-off place for finding information on private foundations, corporate grantmakers, grantmaking public charities and community foundations. Community foundations are organized by state:

After selecting the state, click on the name of a foundation to go directly to its Web site. My random check turned up a few bad links throughout the site.
