GLORIA BARRON PRIZE FOR YOUNG HEROES

The Gloria Barron Prize honors 10 young people who demonstrate the power of one person to make a difference to the world. Half of the winners will have focused on helping their communities and fellow beings, the others on protecting the environment. Winners receive $2,000 each to support their service work or higher education.

The prize was founded by T.A. Barron to honor his mother, Gloria Barron. Visit his Web site at http://www.tabarron.com/tabarron/ to be inspired by his biography, video, books and activities. In his words, "Many surprises await you -- lost worlds, mist-shrouded isles, bizarre creatures, young heroes, triumphs and tragedies … and the wonders of nature. Enjoy the journey!"
