      AVON BREAST CANCER CRUSADE

Avon's mission has been to provide women with access to breast cancer education and early detection screening services. In 2000, the Crusade is expanding its funding to include:

      • support services for breast cancer patients and survivors: financial assistance for biopsies for uninsured women, counseling, transportation, child care and more
      • educational seminars that teach the "science" of breast cancer and methods of effective advocacy
      • medical research on breast cancer

The U.S. Crusade is one of 30 Avon-sponsored programs in countries around the world that support women's health.

Be sure to see the bios of those honored by Avon's Women of Enterprise Awards - breast cancer survivors who operate companies or organizations with annual revenues of at least $250,000.

GIRL GEEKS - THE FEMALE SIDE OF COMPUTING

Girlgeeks.com is "a career, training and mentoring community for aspiring women in computing, the Internet and information technology."

In the Geek Peeks section, see streaming media interviews of nearly 100 women talking about ways technology is opening their minds, ambitions and doors to opportunities.

Feeling geeky? Test yourself on the Geek-O-Meter. Check out the Girl Geek of the Week. There's serious help, however, behind all the fun at this site. Net Events features a series of chats every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 PT to ask questions, get advice and learn from women running multi-million dollar high tech businesses.

Another serious note: all of the clever "geek" terms above are copyrighted.
