Amazon.com has announced a nationwide search to find and reward nonprofit organizations whose innovative approaches and breakthrough solutions most effectively improve their communities or the world at large. The recipient of the award will receive a significant grant from Amazon.com, with the amount being determined by Amazon.com customers. The Center for Social Innovation at Stanford's Graduate School of Business will partner with Amazon.com to manage the award. A high-profile panel including Jeff Bezos, actress Tea Leoni and Henry Kissinger will narrow the list to ten, at which point Amazon.com customers will be able to vote with their pocketbooks. The organization receiving the most in total contributions will receive the award in October 2005, along with a matching grant from Amazon.com. Applications will be accepted through April 28, 2005. http://www.amazon.com/nonprofitinnovation
