HOOVER'S

Check Hoover's home page from time to time for new features. Here are some good ones:

* Ask the Editor
Each week Hoover's editors answer questions submitted by you – although it's not clear on the Web site how to do this. I called Hoover's and was told to submit questions using this e-mail address: update@hoovers.com.

The questions and answers are informative. One response is about a company the Internet Prospector featured last month, "Why is Mars, Inc. so secretive?" In the sidebar, find the Best Known Companies, Newly Updated Companies and fascinating tidbits under the heading, Did You Know?

* Hoover's Most Viewed Companies
These are companies headquartered in 25 top metro areas. Click on a company name to access Hoover's thumbnail profile, which includes a link to the company's Web site. Companies can be searched nationwide by industry.

BEER BREWERS AND DISTRIBUTORS

March, the month when green beer flows freely, may be a good time to consider the charitable giving interests of some of the largest beer brewers in the U.S. Here are links to information about charitable activities and application guidelines for a few of them.

Anheuser-Busch Foundation
Areas of interest include education, health care and human services, minority development, youth, cultural enrichment and environmental protection in areas where the company and its subsidiaries operate major facilities.

Also, Miller provides scholarships for Hispanic-American students through Alelante, an organization that assists students in completing college.

Miller is the largest corporate sponsor of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP). In addition, the Miller Urban Entrepreneurs Series offers key advice on how to start and maintain a successful business.
