THE INTERNET MOVIE DATABASE
Internet Prospector, June '95
Streisand, Speilberg, and Redford. What do they all have in common?
Private foundations. So if you're going after celebrity money then check
out the Internet Movie Database (IMD). It may save some time if agents
and publicists are slow responding to your requests for a celebrity's professional
credits. According to the IMD's
FAQ:
The Internet Movie Database is an international
volunteer effort co ordinated via
the USENET newsgroup rec.arts.movies. The
objective of the database is to provide
useful and up to date movie information *freely*
available on-line, across as many
systems as possible. It currently covers over
41,000 movies with over 525,000 filmography
entries and is expanding continuously.

THE ULTIMATE BAND LIST
Internet Prospector, April '98
Okay, I kept this site to myself for years. Now I am ready to share.
Need to woo a donor music-lover? Click on Clubs and Concerts to scope out
your favorite gig, and rock that donor all night long. Enter keywords
in the dialog box or search alphabetically for an artist (from ABBA to
YMO, Yellow Music Orchestra). What do you get? Besides links
to Web pages, you'll find UBL's All Music Guide which has basic artist
info (links to All Movie Guide when appropriate), biography, discography,
related artists, performance years and genre, all hot linked. You'll find
links to the ALl Movie Guide withfilmography, related artists, directors,
years active and more. Again, there will be hot links to movie synopsis,
actors, and so on.
Don't forget to try other buttons on the home page. Click on Radio Stations, Charts, Magazines, Online Events, Record Stores and Labels. For everything musical with a link on the Internet, click on Musical Resources. You'll link to an index by musical instrument, funk, jazz, opera -- well, the list seems endless.
If rock is your interest, UBL is a first stop. If you can't find the
URL for ASCAP or want the opera scheduler, UBL's musical resource section
is the place to go.
