TOY INDUSTRY HALL OF FAME (TIHOF)

Let the games begin. Check out some of the "Big Wheels" in the toy industry at the Toy Industry Hall of Fame site. The TIHOF was created in 1984 to honor those who have made a difference in the American toy industry.

Profiles of the inductees (including past honorees Walt Disney and Jim Henson) can be searched by year or name.

CANDY HALL OF FAME

How sweet it is!

For 28 years, the National Confectionary Sales Association (NCSA) has sponsored the Candy Hall of Fame. If you're lucky enough to be near Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania, you can see a list of honorees; otherwise, you can visit the NCSA Web site, where you can find a list of inductees from 1971 to 2000. Profiles are available on inductees from 1998 to the present. The profiles are nicely detailed, with photos, career history and family information.

From the home page, click on the Candy Hall of Fame diamond on the left side of the page, then click on Inductees at the top of the new window that will open up. None of the options on the pull-down menu were working (listings by year, search feature) when I visited so you're better off just browsing, like a kid in a ... no, I won't say it.

Also, on the site, check out last year's Elite 100 — UPSIDE magazine's list of high tech's top 100 high rollers for 2000. Wouldn't it be nice if that were updated for 2001?
