SILICON SALLEY

We all know that Silicon Alley is the place to be for hot new entrepreneurs. But do we also know that many of those entrepreneurs are women? Silicon Salley was created to give credit to the millions of incredibly talented and creative women who are working with technology and innovating the Web today.

This is a fun, hip site that features interviews with CEOs, CTOs, programmers and designers, including Liz Briggs of seekingcapital.com (in RealAudio), Annie Wood, president of Inventive Women, Inc., and Sandy Kaye, grand poobah of OnlineVoice.com.

At the top of the page, use the Archives drop-down menu to search for profiles. Very handy.

You can watch The Silicon Salley Show in QuickTime or Real, read the site's editorials, product reviews, or bios of the winners of the coveted "Feng Shui" award for excellence in Web design, or make use of links to such helpful sites as Google and CEO Express.

Plus, if you're getting into holiday-shopping mode, there's even a store where you can order a Silicon Salley T-Shirt. Way too much fun.

RESINETS

ResiNets creates what they call "Data Sets," bare-bones collections of useful links. No ads, no graphics. Their topics include Biography (mostly of famous people who have passed on); Afro-American (includes a link to Christine's Genealogy Web site where you can look up slave records and obituaries and much, much more); Performing Arts Resources, Law Resources, Politics, News and much more.

WRITERSWEBSITE AND FILM-MAKERS

If you're looking for celebrities, these two sites are comprehensive collections of links. They're so comprehensive you could get lost for days trying to get through this fascinating stuff. (Honest, boss, I was researching our constituent, and accidentally ended up on the Mel Gibson site.) Writerswebsite has links to the home pages of actors, directors and writers, as well as links to interviews with screenwriters, filmmakers and agents. Film-makers.com has links to fansites and profiles of Indie actors and, under Film-Maker, profiles of producers, directors, cinematographers, and even some individual resumes.
