VANITY FAIR 100

If you missed the October issue, you can still go online to read bios of Vanity Fair's 20 most powerful people and see the list of names of Nos. 21-100. Bios are gossipy but still substantive, which makes this site all the more entertaining. You'll see language here that you won't see in most news sources. Find out who is "hogging the spotlight like a cranky, Go-Gurt-deprived toddler," who "inspires fear and loathing" among his employees and who, after a shopping spree, has been "feeling a bit generous of late."

WEB CPA: THE NEXT GENERATION: ADAPTATION AND EVOLUTION

Web CPA asked its 100 Most Influential People how to respond to the profession's challenges. Some of their suggestions: leverage technology, reach out to women, new generations and academia and, above all, lose the eyeshades.

Read a brief article and scroll through the 100 bios, which include career histories, affiliations, college degrees and personal information.

If you're looking for a specific name, use the Advanced Search, which indexes the entire site. To narrow your search to this particular article, type the person's name in the Keyword field and "Next Generation," into the Headline field. Otherwise you might have a lot of hits to sift through.

BUSINESS WEEK: THE POWER 100

Sports fans can be somewhat opinionated. So what better way to tally up the most powerful movers and shakers in sports than by asking a panel of 20 sports and media types to weigh in for a Special Report? (Not to mention eliciting comments from somewhat opinionated readers.) To meet the panelists, go to the last link in the list. It’s titled, Slide Show: The Power Panel. Click on each picture for a profile.
