I'm a big fan of 40 Under 40 rankings. Usually published by regional business publications, these lists put the spotlight on younger (they'll be around awhile), successful (they may have the means to become supporters of your organization) people (are their names in your database?) Be sure to keep an eye on your local regional business journal for these lists; it may also benefit you to scan lists from journals nationwide, especially where you have high concentrations of constituents. You never know what -- or who -- you may find! Here is a sampling of recent 40 Under 40 lists. CONTENTS:
The Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 list profiles business and political leaders. The honorees are listed by name on the front page, making it easy to scan the names and click on any one to open a full profile. Photos are included in the profiles. A drop-down box at the bottom of the page points to previous honorees, from 1994-2002. http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/whoswho/40under40/default.asp
The Birmingham Business Journal's 19th Annual Class of Young Business Leaders list is a bit clunky to navigate. Lists are divided alphabetically into quarters: A-E, F-K, L-O and P-Z. Unfortunately, each quarter goes on for several pages. You could click your way through page after page (a tedious task) or click on Printable Version to scroll through each quadrant in its entirely. http://birmingham.bizjournals.com/birmingham/stories/2003/07/21/focus.html
The Phoenix Business Journal divides its list into 58 pages; I'd recommend clicking on Printable Version to scroll through the entire list in one fell swoop. Links are available to the 1997, 2001 and 2002 rankings as well. http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2003/03/24/focus1.html
