RICH BASTARDS

This is a term of endearment in Australia, according to the site's author. Anyway, here's a Rich List Web site with a sense of humor -- you can read jokes while you're working.

Besides the jokes, this site collects information from other lists, including the top ten World's Richest Men and Women, Australia's Richest People, Brazil's Billionaires, UK's Richest People, Wal-Mart Billionaires, Pritzker Billionaires and Celebrity Billionaires. Sadly, the figures are a year or two old -- how hard is it to copy numbers from the newest Forbes lists?

Click on the links to the lists or on Click Here for More Details. Oddly, the links don't take you directly to the list you choose. All links go to the top of the page of lists and you will have to scroll down to find the information you're seeking.

On the front page, scroll down for Trumpisms and wealth tips from J. Paul Getty and H.L. Hunt, lists of real estate billionaires and the richest U.S. celebrities under age 40 (in 2004).

Score this site a D for timeliness and set-up, but we'll give it a little credit for good intentions and a sense of humor.

PAYWATCH

The AFL-CIO has put together a Web site showing executive compensation for hundreds of companies. Look for the Paywatch Database search box on the right; from here, you can search by public company name, ticker symbol, industry or total compensation in 2004 (from under $1 million to over $50 million).

Look in the middle of the page for "Click here to see the top 25 largest CEO pensions," and you'll find the annual pension figures for Pfizer's Henry A. McKinnell, Exxon's Lee R. Raymond, AT&T's Edward E. Whitacre and more.

Sure, the site has a political agenda, but, whatever your leanings, you can find some good data here, including articles about how executive "Top Hat" retirement plans work and 2005 Trends in CEO Pay.

THE TEN RICHEST MEN IN INDIA

Published in January, this Web site profiles a group whose combined net worth is $106 billion. They've earned their wealth in steel, computers, petrochemicals, real estate, telecommunications and more. If you're looking for wealth in India, these are good names to know.
