Finally, the Web site prospect researchers have been searching for. This is a comprehensive database, containing genealogy records (including birthdates, family relationships); SEC filings, real estate and personal property holdings; donor lists from all educational institutions and thousands of non-profits in the U.S. and Canada; news, from the smallest local weekly paper to the major newspapers and wire services; and other personal information that, actually, I'm not really sure where some of it comes from, like the dog's name (veterinary records??!!). The best part is the search feature: type in as much of the prospect's name as you know, even if it's misspelled, or you can type in something like "this guy on the plane who said he was from Miami or maybe it was Sarasota, anyway, he graduated in the 50's or 60's and was a TKE or maybe it was Sigma Chi." And you'll be rewarded, even if your prospect is the most obscure person on Earth. No false hits, either. Everything is matched by SSN. Gosh, I can finish up my work in an hour, and then go home. Now, where did I put that URL??? For British researchers looking into the lives of the upper classes, this site provides a fascinating look into the culture and habits of our betters. http://www.montypython.net/scripts/twityear.php The URL says it all. How many times have we been asked to "find someone in our database who looks like Kenny Rogers?" Now, this site can fulfill all of your Kenny Rogers lookalike needs. Don't miss the 2001 Kenny of the Year Interview and the corn muffin recipe! http://www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com/ If you follow the Newport, Rhode Island yachting scene, you'll want to read the news about the rich guy who won a big race. He is described as "snappy-looking, wearing a fancy sailor's cap and some sort of big, lambs-wool sweater from the Hebrides." http://www.theonion.com/onion3541/rich_guy_wins.html We all know how stressful it can be to research the actor Kevin Bacon. He has been in so many movies! Just trying to figure out his affiliations with other actors and actresses would take weeks, unless you use The Oracle of Bacon. Just type in the name of an actor or actress and this database will track that person's relationship to Kevin Bacon. As an added bonus, the database assigns each actor a "Bacon number" which tells you how many steps that person is from Kevin Bacon. For example, Stan Laurel has a Bacon number of 3. Laurel worked with Terry Moore, who, in turn, was in a movie with Charlize Theron, who, as we all know, was in the movie "24 Hours" with none other than Kevin Bacon. I've been using this site for years and it's never failed me. Unbelievable! Also see Star Links, which tracks links for all actors and actresses, as well as the Elvis Game and the Arnie Game. What great resources! http://www.cs.virginia.edu/oracle/
