CHANNELWEB: 10 PEOPLE TO WATCH IN 2008

There's nothing much to watch on television these days, so I turned off the TV channels and took a look instead at ChannelWeb, a Web site that serves the "technology channel," which encompasses IT solution providers, integrators and consultants. Among the many features of the site (including news, discussion forums and the like) is a recent guide to the top 10 People to Watch in 2008.

Read about the vice president who moved Dell from channel dog to channel champion (hmmm, looks like I'm not the only one who was watching the Westminster Kennel Club dog show). Click through the slide show to read about a "Mozilla Open Source Evangelist" and the CEO who is keeping your data safe at Symantec.

GDUSA: PEOPLE TO WATCH

If graphic designers are your prospects, click on one of the faces featured on this site to read profiles of top people in the field, according to Graphic Design USA, "the news magazine for creative professionals." The magazine knows we are looking for personal information, so they graciously pepper their profiles with questions including designers' favorite movies, television shows and bookmarks as well as educational and career histories.

SAN DIEGO MAGAZINE: 50 PEOPLE TO WATCH IN 2008

If you're not in the San Diego area, perhaps some of your prospects are. San Diego Magazine has put together a diverse list that includes mezzo-soprano Priti Gandhi, philanthropist Madeleine Pickens and reporter Gerry Braun.

It's safe -- and even recommended -- to ignore the New to Old/Old to New toggle and the discussion forum.
