CLINICIANS YELLOW PAGES

Use the Clinicians Yellow Pages, from Mental Health.net, to find therapists and clinicians such as psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and psychiatric nurses.  Enter a city, select a state or "disorders treated" and hit the "Find" button.  You may further limit your search by keyword or case.  While the bios are fairly complete, including associations, research interests and practice area, the alma maters are missing.

DENTIST DIRECTORY

This is a modest beginning to an ambitious effort to create a U.S. and global directory of dentists. Citations vary, but can include contact, personal and professional background, photo and audio of selected dentists in 32 of 50 United States and 15 non-U.S. countries or regions. Example: Arizona lists four dentists, California 40. Directory is not searchable.

After you find your state board official, check out the search site for more than 500,000 licensed medical professionals. This site is also provided by AIM.  Click on the state you want, then search by surname, license number (may need prefix code) or town.  A specialty search is promised for the future.  You can also link to state medical board sites.  Some of these sites have their own search engines for finding medical professionals.

HEALTH PAGES

Health Pages is a growing site provided by New York Magazine. It allows you to search for doctors by state, county, name and practice specialty or for dentists by state, county and name. Not all states or counties are available yet, but site development is worth waiting for. Bio information covers specialty, location, degree, hospital affiliation, etc. I got more information from this site about a doctor I was researching than I did from the AMA Physician Locator!!

WEBDENTAL: THE DENTAL DATABASE

WebDental claims to have nearly 120,000 practice entries with name, address and phone. Starting with a state entry, you can even search by partial name or perform a keyword search. Perhaps you are preparing a mailing to all the dentists in your area, so try a zip code search. Also, keyword search the site for dental school information, join in the newsgroup or check out the classifieds. (This is a slow loading site)
